When to tell the kids they're rich
Wed May 22, 2013
This is hilarious. Uh, the kids already KNOW you're rich - evidenced by the new iPhones every six months, their own cars you bought, the lack of responsibility, chores, or a basic understanding of what "earning it" means. Believe me, long before they're 20 your kids are well aware that they're …
'By the grace of God': How workers survive on $7.25 per hour
Wed Mar 6, 2013
If it was law that the highest wages (including "bonuses") and lowest wages couldn't be too far apart, then we could raise minimum wage easily, because execs would want more money.
Wealthy spoil their kids, even if they don't intend to, survey says
Thu Jan 10, 2013
Yes, these children will grow up and say that "opportunities are out there if you try hard" and "people shouldn't get public assistance; they should work hard like I did".
Is liberal Christianity signing its own death warrant?
Thu Jul 19, 2012
Churches are declining because not everyone needs/wants someone to tell them how to live their life. I'd rather burn in hell, thanks.

School bans girl with cerebral palsy from using walker
Thu Mar 29, 2012
Well, if she has to use a wheelchair because she fell down, then so should any other child who falls down. And the school should have to provide the wheelchairs for ALL of them. That should fix them. If the girl can walk, and wants to, LET HER WALK.
Putting 7-year-old on a diet: Responsible, or reprehensible?
Tue Mar 27, 2012
This poor girl. She's trying to figure out her identity, and her mother basically is telling her she wasn't good enough until she was thin enough.
Political food fight over junk food ads to kids
Wed Oct 12, 2011
I agree it's up to the parents to refuse to buy stuff just because the kids beg for it - and to teach healthy eating. However, this article stated the ad ban isn't needed for kids over 12, and THAT is where I disagree. Once they're in middle school and becoming more independent is when they start ma …
Unable to pay child support, poor parents land behind bars
Mon Sep 12, 2011
I've seen this from both sides - but "out of work for two years" often means they sat around collecting unemployment as long as possible without looking for a job, and refuse to work at McDonald's or Walmart because it's "beneath them". Meanwhile, the custodial parent is working two or three jobs, …
